Things to feel good about, here.
The Huntington cheat sheet.
- Park here, not there. The Elm Street lot empties out by 7 p.m. — sunset crowd's gone home and Village's still alive.
- Best slice past 11 p.m. Little Vincent's on New York Ave. After the bars, before the train. No debate.
- Rainy-day kids. The Heckscher Museum has free Sundays. The LI Children's Museum does $5 Wednesdays — go between rainstorms.
- The walk. Centerport Beach loop. 35 minutes. All flat. Prettiest at low tide, around 4 p.m. this week.
- LIRR park-and-ride. Greenlawn lot is half the price of Huntington's and one stop away. Don't tell anyone.
- The harbor swim. Half Hollow Hills Pool closes at 7. Centerport Beach is open til dusk. The water this time of year is 71.
